High drama face off over the Euro today with the Germans insisting Greek debt should be written down, while the ECB is demanding that only taxpayers remain on the hook.
The thing is it is a rather moot point; the taxpayers are the owners of the debt in one way or another. Mostly through pensions and savings, but also by the fact the banking system has been nationalised.
Either way, debts we did not ask for will be paid off by taxes we don’t want to give.
