Is this the ugliest "medal" ever made?

E-mail

I make no apologies for my utter contempt for mass marketers taking advantage of the uneducated to knock out worthless junk. Far too many times have we had customers looking to sell gold plated trinkets purchased and handed down as heirlooms.

Prince Beavis

It is simply money down the drain, and mostly by those that can least afford it.

When this monstrous item came across my desk, I had to close my eyes against the hideousness of the design.

For those not familiar, the portrait should be of our future King and Queen, the duke and duchess of Cambridge.

Prince-William-and-Kate-M-007

For us, the resemblance to Beavis and Butthead the obnoxious cartoon shown on MTV in the nineties would be more appropraite.

For those not too familiar, any item that does not have a denomination is called a medal.

In order for marketers to be able to call their item a coin, they often visit Pacific or Atlantic "volcano states", pay a fee and get to use the queen's portrait and a denomination.

Quite a nice little earner for them, but never for the buyer.
