Following the tectonic intervention by the Swiss National Bank, it is interesting to compare the first chart in this post from August 2nd when gold was up 20% over six months in US$. But only 1% when priced in Swiss Francs.

As we can see from today's chart the Swiss have joined battle in the Global Currency Wars with a blood curdling cry of "Unlimited"!

In one day they managed to devalue their currency against gold by about ten per cent, and over the past 30 days they devalued it nearly 25% against gold.

It really is a race to the bottom, and the only winner appears to be the yellow metal.
