Regular readers will know that we do love a good conspiracy. As the tin hat brigade are oft to say:
“just because we are paranoid, does not mean they are not out to get us.”
So, it is with some pleasure that we pass along completely unsubstantiated rumours that Germany (and others) have begun printing new D-Marks; with a picture to boot over at Fausty’s Libertarian Blog.
The bands surrounding the notes appear to show the date 14/05/10- May 14th 2010.
I find this interesting, because just the day before, May 13th 2010, the FT debunked these rumours, ridiculing the source as being, let’s just say, on the fringe.
I mean I do not know if Eisenhower really did meet Aliens, and as far as I can tell, Saturn still has its rings and Jupiter its moon.
Then again, as we have noted before, we do try to believe in a series of impossible things before breakfast.
It is truly staggering how many impossible things are, in fact, possible.
As we noted about Ireland, we would be very disappointed if governments were not making plans for a return to the pre euro currencies, but I would also expect them to be very different from the pre euro designs.
