U.S. Gold

"Of all the worlds rare coins there are few areas that have performed as well as United States gold type. Affordable and desirable, we believe that 19th and 20th century gold will continue to outperform the overall coin market."

Components.

Collectors can purchase a single $20 Double Eagle, a Liberty (1849-1907) or St Gaudens Type (1907- 1933), at least 100 years old for about the same price as a modern and far more common Krugerand.

True works of art and a unique, historic part of Americana. Many of the coins were designed by leading artists and sculptors of their generation. The denominations for US gold coins are commonly referred to as Double Eagle, Eagle, Half Eagle and Quarter Eagle.

Simply put this refers to the amount of gold in each denomination. The double eagle ($20) weighs 1 TROY OUNCE (31.1 Grams) of gold. The $10 Eagle, has half troy ounce, the $5 half eagle has 1/4 troy ounce, and the $2.50 quarter eagle has 1/8th an ounce (4.18 Grams).

Starting Prices.

There is worldwide demand for classic US gold rarities. Being such a young country, US Gold has a range of only 130 years total production. With huge amounts of coins melted and lost forever in the past century, supply continues to shrink.

Widely known as the classsic age of minting gold and silver coins. Minting techniques were not dissimilar from todays technology, and designs were often by artists of the day. They represent a five-star opportunity that will cost you a lot less to get started than a night at a five-star hotel.

Circulated coins start from £200, a premium of 10- 20 % over melt value (Euro300). A complete set of 12 coins (one of each denomination) are only £6,000 or about Euro 10,000. It must be noted this price would be for coins THAT HAVE NOT BEEN CERTIFIED, and are in circulated condition. The net weight in gold of the 12 coins would be more than 135 Grammes pure gold, more than $4,000 in melt value.

$10 GOLD SPECIAL $10 Liberty Gold From Only £225

A complete set certified Mint State 60 would be in the region of £11,000 while a set of 12 coins graded Mint State 65(MS65) would be over £300,000 or half a million Euros. This makes the US 12 coin gold type set (one type of each coin) one of the most AFFORDABLE, STABLE, PROFITABLE AND LIQUID COIN SETS AVAILABLE ANYWHERE.

During the relatively short time that United States gold coins were produced (1799-1933) it is widely accepted that they are amongst some of the most beautiful coins ever created. Simply hold an American gold coin, any coin, in your hand and you will realize that they truly are individual works of art which represent a great country in its ascendancy to super power status.

In 1933 president elect Theodore Roosevelt faced an economy that was on its knees. Stock markets had collapsed wiping out a massive amount of wealth and banks were being forced to pay out nervous depositors. Much of this was in gold and silver bullion in honor of the paper promises to "pay the bearer upon demand", and the bearers were demanding. Something had to be done.

Using an old law, known as the Trading With The Enemy Law, created during World War One, Roosevelt ordered all privately-held gold to be confiscated and handed in to the treasury. Fortunately for us, a clause was added stating that bullion coins that traded at a minimum of 30% above their bullion value could be classified as numismatics and exempt from confiscation.

Eventually as much as 98% of all the original mintages of United States gold and silver coins were confiscated, consigned to the melting pot and lost forever.

During the 1960s various loopholes were exploited in the law allowing traders to deal in Mexican 50 peso gold coins and American $20 double eagles. It was not until 1975 that the law was completely revoked. However it should be noted that THE LAW STILL EXISTS AND COULD BE REINSTATED, under certain circumstances. Once again only numismatic bullion would become exempt.

Why US Gold

Original mint figures are published, and can be compared against independent grading companies own data, (called a population report) documenting how many coins that service has certified. To find out why the government can't get it's hands on your coolectible gold coins

As "collectible coins", numismatics, they offer long-term protection against gold confiscation.

Many of the coins were minted from gold mined in the American West a century ago, a direct link between the modern age and the ideals that founded the United States. THEY ARE A TANGIBLE TOUCH OF HISTORY YOU CAN HOLD IN YOUR HAND AND ADMIRE.

LIQUIDITY

THE RARE COIN MARKET IS THE MOST SUBSTANTIAL AND WELL ORGANIZED OF ALL THE COLLECTIBLE MARKETS. Today, because of third party certifications, rare coins can actually trade over a network called The Certified Coin Exchange. A system very similar to the way the stock exchange works. In this network dealers post bid and ask prices on thousands of coins. Dealers can do this sight unseen, and are overseen by an administration and strict enforcement of rules, facilities, and a fair market which is conducive to trading.

WE WILL DO FOR OUR CUSTOMERS WHAT MANY OTHER COMPANIES WON'T - provide a portfolio of information for you and your heirs should you wish to liquidate elsewhere. Remember, should you liquidate through another dealer the amount you receive will depend on how much profit you let him or her make. Always contact Signature Rarities before accepting any offer.

We can auction your coins at one of our many auctions throughout the year. What’s more SIGNATURE RARITIES PROVIDES THIS SERVICE PROUDLY TO ITS CUSTOMERS ABSOLUTELY FREE OF CHARGE.

Signature Rarities is also major buyer and may offer to purchase your coin or, because of our large customer base, we may also have a collector or investor ALREADY IN NEED OF YOUR COIN.

PERFORMANCE - "BETTER THAN GOLD."

Following the 1929 stock market crash, COINS RECOVERED AT A MORE RAPID RATE THAN STOCKS. That is to say that ALL assets dropped in value in 1929, but while it took the stock market 23 years to get back to its PRE 1929 crash levels far faster. WILL HISTORY REPEAT ITSELF? IT DID!

After the 1987 market meltdown rare COINS NOT ONLY BEAT STOCK BACK UP BUT, BY THE TIME THE STOCK MARKET RECOVERED RARE COINS WERE UP 120% ON THEIR LOW.

Make you think, doesn't it?

PIONEER GOLD AND PATTERNS

During the mid-19th century and throughout the gold rush of the 1850s and 1860s, several private mints issued gold coins. Today, known as Pioneer Gold, these fascinating relics of Americana are quite rare.

Patterns are trial or experimental pieces struck as examples of a proposed design. Most of the designs - or patterns - were never adopted for regular issue coins and were struck in very limited quantities.
